Lovely stay with great views
I had a nice time here, especially in Room 104 with a lovely view of the tower. The room was clean with fresh bedding and even had a full-length mirror and TV. The carpet was new, which added a nice touch. I felt that some areas could use a bit of upkeep to make the stay even better.

Recommend it for families
Gotta say, the room was clean and well-kept, unlike some of those dodgy places. They even brought the kids pancakes with Nutella when we asked for it, you know, made it a little more special for them.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but it was acceptable for the quality we got.

The location is quite central, making it easy to hit nearby attractions. I appreciated the variety of homemade treats available before check-out—definitely a sweet touch.
There are several issues that need addressing. Many guests reported delays during check-in and double bookings causing serious headaches upon arrival. Rooms varied in decor—some were described as drab with dark colors and stained furnishings. The cleanliness left much to be desired, with reports of mold in the bathrooms and unkempt communal areas. Others mentioned that the beds weren’t in the best shape, making for a less comfortable night’s sleep. Wi-Fi was also spotty, which can be a pain when you're trying to plan your next move.

The Italian coffee was a real treat, and just around the corner, The Albert and The Lion serves a proper meal. Plus, the location is a stone's throw from the sea, making it easy for a seaside stroll.
The new owner's vibe isn't as welcoming. The front fence could use a fix, and the room had a bit of a stench. Stains on bedding and worn towels really needed a revamp, but it still had potential.

Wonderful room amenities like a cozy fleecy throw and a clean bathroom. Being just around the corner from the sea meant I felt right at home. A delightful bonus was the breakfast, especially those surprise pancakes for the kids that the owners whipped up. The staff's genuine effort to upgrade the place is commendable, ensuring a pleasant stay overall.
Minor upkeep needed.

I had a delightful time during my stay at Chaplins. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the beach and local attractions. The owner's hospitality truly stood out. They were very accommodating, allowing us to check in earlier than planned, which was a great relief. The room was clean and well-kept, providing a cozy atmosphere. I appreciated the ample tea and coffee facilities, along with the heavy duvet and cozy fleece throw. Breakfast was genuinely impressive, with a nice variety that included surprises like pancakes for the kids upon request. the bathroom could use some attention. The shower head was fixed high on the wall, making it difficult for taller guests. I found the towels to be on the rough side, lacking softness. Even with these minor issues, I felt that the property has great potential and I look forward to seeing how it improves over time, especially with the new owners aiming for upgrades.

Perfect spot for a chill stay
I had a fab time here! The location's super close to the beach, and the shower had great water pressure. The staff were really helpful, especially when I needed to check in early. Only downside? The room could’ve used a few more hangers for clothes. Breakfast options were cool too, with special diet menus available.

Excellent breakfast with enough variety to keep you going for the day.
Heavy rain caused leaks on the stairs, and the towels felt very hard. no toiletries were provided at all. The kettle was unusable, water stagnated inside, and the rooms were described as shabby and somewhat run down. It took a good while to get into the property, with multiple calls necessary to gain access. also, the promised view and space for the room were lacking and disappointing.
